HSK 5 and HSK 6 writing: sentences, paragraphs and summaries
By VNDocs · Updated
The VNDocs HSK 5 and HSK 6 practice rooms require different approaches: construct sentences or paragraphs from supplied material, or condense a source without losing its sequence. Confirm your registered test level, version and delivery format with the official provider because formats can change.
Sentence ordering: identify the core
Find the main predicate, who performs the action and what it affects. Then place time, location, negation and complements in the correct relationship to the verb.
Do not join a familiar pair of words and guess the rest. Read the entire sentence to check meaning, 的/地/得 and the scope of negation. Use the supplied elements rather than inserting extra words to conceal an ordering mistake.
HSK 5 paragraphs: connect every keyword
An approximately 80-character paragraph needs a coherent situation. For five keywords, plan who acts, what changes and how the situation ends. Then verify that each required word is used correctly.
This original example demonstrates connected ideas. It is neither an official answer nor a complete response of the required length. Expand it with a relevant explanation or outcome rather than repeating a sentence to increase the character count.
为了准备面试,小林每天练习介绍自己。起初他很紧张,但经过多次练习,他终于能够清楚地说明自己的工作经验。HSK 6 summaries: retain events, omit commentary
For the approximately 400-character summary format practised here, read for the characters, objective, obstacle, turning point and outcome. Once the source is withdrawn, reconstruct the sequence from remembered key points instead of trying to reproduce every sentence.
Paraphrase without changing causes, actors or outcomes. Supply a suitable title when instructed. Avoid adding personal experience, a moral judgment or a new ending absent from the original.
Check meaning before polishing language
First verify the task and source facts. Only then review connectors, word order and incorrect characters. Compare AI suggestions against the required keywords or source passage before accepting them.
- Follow the level and instructions of the selected task.
- Use all HSK 5 keywords or describe the actual picture.
- Preserve events without personal opinion in HSK 6.
- Count characters as instructed, rather than English-style words.
